The CCE Outreach Committee is excited to share that 180 Happy Kits will be donated to Children’s Mercy Hospital! The donations from CCE students and their families of crayons, coloring books and story books helped provided the supplies. Shelly Nicole, Children’s Mercy Donations Coordinator, was grateful for the donations noting, “The kits provided were absolutely wonderful! They were some of the best kits I’ve received this year. A big applause and thank you from me, as well as all of the clinics who received them to hand out, to you and your students at Cedar Creek Elementary. Job Well Done!”
During the ice cream social, students stopped by an assembly line and helped put together one of each item in a bag to create a Happy Kit. These kits will be given to patients and siblings to provide a positive activity during their visit to the hospital. We also would like to share a special “thank you” to the 6th grade Girl Scouts for the donation of $80 from the bake sale they had during the carnival! Thanks to everyone who donated and helped us make this important donation.
The Cedar Creek Elementary Outreach Committee coordinates community service and giving from the Cedar Creek Elementary community. In its first year of the existence, the Outreach Committee coordinated this donation as well as a very successful coat Drive for the The Hope Network during the Fall Picnic. The generosity of the CCE community is truly impressive. We encourage anyone interested in this committee to sign up for it next year!
